Happy New Year everyone!
Every January as we settle back in to normality after the holidays we like to look back on the year that has just passed. While setting goals for the future is paramount to any business, (or indeed in life), it’s also very important to look back at how far you’ve come, what you’ve achieved, and most importantly: what you’ve learned.
We were lucky enough to secure a place in the Autumn Series of Google’s Adopt a Startup Programme, which ran for three months in Google’s EMEA HQ in Dublin. During the programme we attended bi-weekly lectures given by Google experts in various fields. We were also given three Google Mentors based on our business objectives, and worked together to build a strategy for the following 12 weeks.
Our mentors…
When we first met our three mentors Kate, Samarth and Michal, we’re pretty sure that we scared them. We had a mountain of objectives, (or OKRs if you’re a Googler), and we didn’t know where to start. They quickly helped us identify the most important, and we began to launch in to our plan.
Throughout the 12 weeks we met so many amazing people, from the other Startups, to the entire Google Team, and learned something new with every conversation we had.
The Semi-Finals…
After we presented our results in the Semi-Finals were delighted (and shocked) to find out that we were one of the 8 finalists!
The Finals…
The Finals took place in The Foundry, home to the famous Google Breakfast Briefings. Each of the 8 finalists gave their pitch and answered questions after from industry leaders.
We couldn’t believe our ears when they called Nasal Medical as 2nd Place!
We won an incredible prize pack including €5,000 in Google Ads Credit & €20,000 in Google Cloud Credit which will help us in reaching our goals for 2019.
Dashmote scooped 3rd place and worthy winners Urban Volt took the coveted 1st place prize.
What an incredible journey it was, and we’re looking forward to sharing our many plans for 2019 with you!
