Ours began on a farm in County Kerry.
When the herd of cattle on Martin O’Connell’s family farm in Kerry was wiped out from tuberculosis, Martin wanted to try and prevent something like this happening again. He had an idea to use a filter for cows to block bacteria reaching their lungs. From this idea, the idea for a filter to help battle pollution effects in humans was born. Nasal Medical was founded in 2014 by Martin O’Connell and Keith Yeager. Nasal Medical develops anatomically designed nasal medical devices to assist better breathing. The teams’ focus on strong product design has resulted in patented, novel and effective medical devices. In 2016, Nasal Medical won the AIB Start up Academy, which led to nationwide recognition, validation, and a prize fund to work with national media such as Irish Times, Maximum Media, and numerous local and national radio stations.

To date, the Nasal Medical Discreet Snoring Aid has shown to significantly reduce snoring in 9 out of 10 patients. The recently launched Allergy Nasal Filter offers a drug-free solution for preventing allergies, blocking allergens such as pollen, dust, pet dander and mould from entering the nose. With studies both ongoing and completed in key universities and hospitals, science backing, innovation, customer-centered approach and clinical testing is at the forefront of Nasal Medical’s core values.

Martin O’Connell is an electrical engineer from County Kerry, Ireland. An accomplished and internationally renowned musician, Martin co-founded Nasal Medical in 2014. The concept for the company was originally born through solving a problem in cattle contacting TB, and from this, a market became apparent for humans. Nasal Medical develops anatomically designed nasal medical devices to assist better breathing. The teams’ focus on strong product design has resulted in patented, novel and effective medical devices. Keith Yeager is a mechanical engineer with 10+ years of expertise in design and prototyping of medical devices. While at Columbia University, he has served as advisor on well over 100 devices and has played a key role in development of a range of technologies, including bioreactors for bone, cartilage, and cardiac tissue, imaging systems, diagnostic devices, surgical instruments, and custom instrumentation for research labs. He holds several patents and publications primarily in the field of tissue engineering. Multiple technologies have been licensed for commercialization, and Keith is a co-founder of two companies- EpiBone Inc, and Nasal Medical Ltd.

Dr Paul Carson is a well known allergy doctor and founder of Allergy Ireland in the Slievemore Clinic Dublin. He has conducted clinical trials of the allergy filter & has spoken at length about our products on radio, and TV such as the Elaine show & Ireland AM. Dr Carson is the official spokesperson for our Allergy Filter, and Hay Fever Relief App, giving us advice, support and helping us reach patients with allergies. When Dr Carson isn’t busy treating his patients in Allergy Ireland, he writes novels (yes, really!), he is the author of five best-selling thriller novels, as well as numerous health books and children’s books
Angela Zhang is based in China, having more than 20 years of working experience in the healthcare field. Before joining nasal medical, Angela has worked in Enterprise Ireland China as the market advisor for 8 years. She is an expert in local market research, product promotion, import and export consulting.
